Results of theme 1: "What type of business problems can you solve with KM?" (30.09.02 - 25.10.02)

Theme 1 was hosted by the KM implementation SIG during October 2002. A lot of collaborative work has been done around the topic "What type of business problems can you solve with KM" and a lot of results have been published here on knowledgeboard. The Synthesis Report summarizes all results. Information about the detailed single carried out activivities and their results are provided in hereafter:

Before the whole thing started off the team responsible for theme one has prepared a press release and a brochure for marketing purposes.

Weekly Digests
After each week, as small digest has been created that summarised quickly the happenings and results of the past week.

Keynote Presentations
Every week an online keynote presentation has been given using the Gemplus online service that allowed to present slides, chat and talk with eachother over a telephone line.

Interviews
Interviews with leading knowledge managers have been carried out to investigate what kind of business problems they have solved with KM and how they did it.

A small poll each week tried to capture the voices of our visitors.

Workshops
At a real workshop at Siemens in Munich 50 participants tried to answer our main theme 1 question "What Business Problems can you solve with KM?". See the results and download the presentations from the Siemens Workshop in Munich.

Surveys
Two surveys have been carried out. The first "survey" has been carried out online and it is still open for your feedback. If you think your opininon has not yet been considered in the results of this theme, please feel free to fill the survey. The second "survey" has been carried out at the EBEW in Prague.
