KnowledgeBoard Newswire #124 - Meet Charles Savage, register for Contactivity
23-Feb-06
KnowledgeBoard #124 - 23 February 2006
http://www.knowledgeboard.com - Your Global KM Community
EDITOR'S NOTE
Charles Savage will be joining us next Monday to discuss the
European Commission's Lisbon Strategy, why it is failing, and
what we can do about it. If you look at the event page, you will
see that the discussion has already begun.
The KB forums are now open. This is where you can add your
questions and opinion within a SIG area or the KB general
discussion. Please have a look below and join the debate.
I will be on holiday in Vietnam for three weeks (24/02-20/03). If
there are any KB members there, get in touch - it would be great
to meet up. During my absence, KB will be in the worthy hands of
Stephanie Phillips (ex-KB editor), Steve Bridger (community
manager) and Rene Stach (KB project manager). They will be
monitoring the 'editor@knowledgeboard.com' email address so you
are in good hands.
The Contactivity wiki will be looked after by my trusted friend
and wiki guru Dan Dixon. We will launch the co-creation process
there in early March, so if you have not decided to get involved,
do it now!
We have also begun the search for a new KB editor. I will be
leaving KB later this year (June/July) and am keen to find the
right person to take KB into its next phase. We need someone with
serious enthusiasm for KM, strong editorial and commercial
skills, high emotional intelligence and more. We will publish a
formal job specification in March, so stand by for more
information.
I will think of you all on my holiday, and post some photos into
the KB flickr group, and be present on the Contactivity
wiki

SIG AND OTHER CONTENT HIGHLIGHTS
Meet Charles Savage to discuss the Lisbon strategy
27 February, online in the KB chatroom, 16:00-17:00 CET
(CET is Central European Time, 1 hour ahead of GMT)
We are proud to invite you to meet Charles Savage in a free
online event next week:
We are so imprisoned by Industrial Era thinking, we do not know
how to think out-of-the-box. We cannot reach the Knowledge Era
with Industrial Era language and assumptions. Unfortunately, much
of the KM and IC work we are doing is focused upon 'repairing'
the humanly flawed industrial model, which is, in effect, beyond
repair and a waste of time.
