Learning Module: Key Principles of Communication
20-Apr-06
This module gives a brief interpretation of the general aspects of communication, of the different types of communication, of sending and receiving messages and of the barriers in communication. Moreover it shows the possibilities of misunderstanding, which can happen and help to understand the meaning and impact of the process of communication. Many of these elements are already used unconsciously but this learning module alerts the user that communication can be learned and improved by taking care of these aspects.
To get a complete overview about "communication and management" please follow also the modules "leadership and communication" and "intercultural communication".
We'd be glad to receive your feedback and recommendations!

Iceberg Theory
Dear Vincent,
good to see that you like the module! As communication is a very wide topic we had to take decisions about what we want to present in the slides. We decided that it should give an introduction into the topic and our main aim is to attract people's interest. The iceberg theory would indeed be very interesting in this context. Why don't you tell us in a few words what it is about, so the community could benefit of an example!
Thanks Corinna
interesting, good basis ... appropriate to self-training?
Very interesting module
The communication basis are clearly defined.
Perhaps some slides regarding the iceberg theory could be added to complete the message.
Perhaps some slides defining the way to improve in with KM process (COP for example) will be usefull ?
Is this kind of topic (communication) really appropriate to auto/ e-learning use?

Iceberg Theory
Do I know enough of subtext to explain the iceberg theory? Does a stone know when it is bouncing off someones head?
