The 3rd KnowledgeBoard Contactivity Event, Israel, 29th-30th November 2006

The 3rd KnowledgeBoard Contactivity Event, 29th-30th November 2006, Israel

A Nomad Exploration Tour:

"Exploring Knowledge Management

the Israeli Way"

Dave Snowden - Star Guest and Speaker

The idea behind the 3rd Contactivity event is simple - instead of sitting at an air-conditioned room discussing knowledge management, we will go out and see how knowledge is really created, shared and transferred from generation to generation.

We believe that by visiting a diverse range of communities we can gain deeper insight into concepts of the past and of the future. We will explore traditional communities and knowledge practices created thousands of years ago, as well as methods and approaches emerging in ultra-modern organizations in recent years.

In the morning we will explore communities located in different geographical, social, political and professional parts of Israel, in small groups. In the afternoon we will return to Tel Aviv and share our experiences - using our collective intelligence to create new understandings.

A major figure in the movement towards integration of humanistic approaches to knowledge management and sensemaking, Dave Snowden is generally held to be one of the leading practitioners and thinkers in the field of a naturalising (science based) approached to decision theory and sensemaking

Where: The event will be based in Tel Aviv at the Centre for Educational Technology and during the two days we plan to visit and explore communities and domains such as: an Arab-Jewish Centre, an Archeological site, an Educational NGO, a Religious Centre, a large multinational corporation, a scientific community, a defense force organization - as the visits will be in small groups, each participant will have the opportunity for two visits.

Highlights and Pictures

Hello from Tel-Aviv.
Contactivity 3 is now over.
It was a great experience for all of us.
We explored KM at CET, IAI, The Caesarea Development Corporation, Teva and the Bahแ'ํ World Centre in Haifa.
We had a thought provoking conversation with Dave Snowden on the power of narrative for KM.
We had Knowledge Cafes on burning KM questions.
Here are some pictures:

Looking forward to further exploring on-line what we have started off-line,
Warmly,
Edna

A warm invitation!

Dear Friends,
I would like to add my personal invitation to all of you to hurry up and register for this event.
The concept for this event emerged in Contactivity 2 and we went back home and have designed it with lots of love and creativity and got all of our friends all over Israel to collaborate. This will truely be a unique opportunity for a very different leaning experience.
So please let us know ASAP that you are coming.
We will create a great KM experience together!
Warmly,
Edna
