The 2nd Conference on Collaborative Working Environments for Business and Industry: Call for Paper

22-Sep-06

The mission of the 1st Conference on Collaborative Working Environments for Business and Industry was to bring together a select group of industry practitioners and academics, to jointly address emerging industry needs, and to shape the future research agenda in the area of Collaborative Working Environments.

Innovations in the area of Collaborative Working Environments are certainly at the heart of improving the sustainability and competitiveness of European business. In order to create growth and employment, it is essential that European corporations are given the opportunity to more effectively make use of globally dispersed information resources and knowledge workers. In light of this focus, the conference was organized according to the following central topics:

  • Knowledge Enabled Workers: Generating, capturing, and activation of knowledge (both tacit and explicit) across organisations, disciplines and locations
  • Virtualized Collaborative Environments: Modelling, simulation, and visualisation in a virtual collaborative environment.
  • Shared workspaces: Merging virtual and physical workspaces for creative collaboration.
  • Virtual Communities: Users form teams and communities across organisational boundaries to deal with rapidly changing business demands.
  • Responsive environments: environments enhanced with networks of artefact's and robotics delivering context-aware services to respond to users’ demands
