Online applications are now open for the 4th Reasoning Web Summer School, taking place in San Servolo Island, Venice, on 7-11 September 2008.

Reasoning Web 2008 is the next in a successful series of summer schools devoted to semantic web reasoning and applications. The school will cover basic foundational material and will survey a range of successful applications, while the program will include tutorials as well as hands-on activities. 

The school aims to help participants identify which semantic web ideas and techniques have been adopted so far, those that haven't and why, and which application needs are still waiting to be tackled with semantic techniques.

To ensure a high ratio between tutors and students, the school will have a limited number of participants. A small number of scholarships will be available.The deadline for applications is 16 May 2008. 

The program includes the following topics: foundations of knowledge representation and reasoning, representing knowledge with controlled natural language processing, semantic multimedia, semantic techniques for social networks, semantic techniques for bioinformatics, and semantic web services.
