The paper presents an approach to the development of an adjustable knowledge Internet portal intended for information support of innovation activity of SME’s (finding necessary information about new scientific results, technologies and other innovations, and aiding in getting into contact with corresponding research institutes, R&D groups and organizations). Moreover, the portal can be of service for research institutes willing to apply their results in industry. The information basis of the portal is an ontology that supports integration of information resources relevant to the subject domain of a portal into a uniform information space and provides semantic (content-based) access to these resources.
