Dear SIG member,

Management professionals are continuously under change. That’s nothing new. We all know that being in business implies perpetual adaptation and I’m so pleased to see that’s also the case for our KB portal.

A new look, new technologies and features, a lot that has been changed like several signs of ‘something new is happening around here’ symptom. And it’s probably following the business trends, requiring from a lot of KM people to move from one department to another, to change their corporate or personal scopes, like answering the crucial question of productivity and financial return.  But is that all a sign that KM practices are not needed anymore? And, by extension, does this mean that SME's will certainly never embrace KM attitude or any KM reflex ion? I am not sure.

Probably most of us are trying to find adequate answers to all those questions, but does the name of a profession or this management attitude really matter? If you are are running a small business and that you acquired more commercial economic intelligence reflexes, you brought some more structure in your information and have maybe adopted any new nomad technology, you have done it! You have followed the right path and been practicing what might be called knowledge management. Or something else, as long as it helps.

Kind regards,

Joël
